Another Year...

It is almost a new year. Who knew how fast the old year would fly away? But it has. It seems that it was just New Years Eve a bit ago but it's been a wh ole year.
when you are a c hild the years go by so slowly. A school year especially. Even a school day seemed sometimes to drag on forever.
when you become an adult you can't seem to ever find enough time in a day to all you need to do.

The wind has been blowing like crazy for the past day and night. Tomorrow is supposed to be even worse. Truth be told I like the sound of the wind howling through the trees and the sound of sudden gusts that blow up every now and then.

It's time for a cup of coffee....til next time.

What a sunny day it is.
Most winter days are dull and the sky is usually steel gray, but then you get those stellar blue days when things are crisper and clearer than any day in summer could ever be. Today was one of those days.
Usually they seem to follow snow storms when the air is clean and washed fresh by the storm. Yes, there was some rain, but it was an unusual day anyway.

The smell of the bay at low tide is something not everyone likes but if you grew up around it, its nostalgic and comforting at the same time...yeah, its a had to be there kind of thing and an acquired taste I guess.

We had a party tonight.
The food was delicious and the dessert was great and everyone had a fine time.
There were cute little donuts for the kids to fill with jelly using an injectable baster.
What fun.
If you ever get a chance to make your own jelly donuts, give it a try, since its loads of fun to do.
Most of the party time was spent eating and talking about anything and everything, which always makes for a good time.

Most memorable parties of all time would make a good blog post I think.
Is it the food or the company that makes a party nice? I think you need a good combination of both .

Dreary damp day today.

Not much went on. Ate, slept, read , studied a bit.

It was good to be inside rather than out in the dampness .

It wasnt that chilly more low 60s and had to turn off the heat but the damp was not nice and goes through your bones a lot.

The neighborhood is very quiet today. Sky is steel gray and looks threatening a bit, weather is average, not too cold, not too warm.
It's been a very sleep day today however and I find it hard to keep awake. I guess I am just plain tired.
The worst part about the holidays lately is that there isn't much on television. I suppose it was always like that but this year seems worse for some reason.
There is the usual James Bond extravaganza. They insist on showing The Christmas Story over and over again and everyone seems to love the movie from what I read. I am just not interested in it.

Another Day

The sky is gray and the temperatures are up to 50 from a very cold 20 and below yesterday.
In the middle of the night a sprinkly frozen rain fell but melted quickly in the morning.
I had to actually turn down the heat because it got too hot inside.
Weather is hard to judge really.

I went to pick up some Advantage for the cat but the pet store only had frontline. I bought it anyway since it is Christmas eve and the shopping center was so crowded it was hard to find a place to park at all.
I gave up all thought of running into the grocery for some cream cheese. Wall to wall people!!!

The traffic in this little fishing village was out of sight! Where did they all come from? I think they imported them for the day.

Cold Waiting

There are only so many things you can say about cold days that are good.
Cozy... Warm are not two of them.
It is just difficult to find a lot that's good.
If you are inside looking out, then you can praise the day to the hilt, but if you are outside looking in, it gets kind of hard to do that.

I was standing in front of a store waiting for a friend to arrive and the minutes, which seemed like hours were ticking on by. The temperatures were falling as the day was drawing to a close and as the sun sank the bitter cold was just getting worse.
I thought of stepping inside but didnt because I might miss her... until it got so bad that I had to...and then, well, I missed her!!

Now, can you tell me why people won't use their heads and think.. I know she should be here, maybe she stepped inside for a minute?
That is logical and women are not always logical.
She parked, looked q uickly and drove off.
Luckily she went round the corner and came back and as I had seen her leave, I ran out of the lobby of the store to flag her down.
Suffice to say we got home in one piece but I was in brittle cold pieces!
